Powder coating of metal products

Powder coating (Powder coating) - a method of obtaining polymer coatings with high protective and decorative properties. This method coloring was developed in the 1950s. The powder coating method is a popular alternative to liquid coating. paints and varnishes for parts allowing heat treatment.

Powder coating method

The cleaned product is sprayed powder paint... During spraying, powder paint particles are electrically charged from an external source or electrification with friction. The electric field transfers the powder paint particles to the painted product, which has the opposite charge. Particles of powder paint that have not settled on the product are trapped in the spray booth and can be used for re-spraying, which is not possible with conventional liquid paints. Then the product with the applied powder paint is transferred to the polymerization chamber to "bake" the paint. In the process of forming the coating from the applied powder layer, a monolithic high-quality coating is created on the surface of the product. The process of coating formation is carried out by heating a layer of powder paint to the state of its melting with the formation of a monolithic layer. During subsequent processing, a hard film forms as a result of hardening (for thermosetting materials) or cooling (for thermoplastic materials). The melting of powder paints is divided into three stages: 1) the powder is melted and becomes a viscous-flowing state; 2) a monolithic layer of fused powder particles is formed; 3) the painted surface is wetted by the molten polymer, as a result of which a coating is formed.

Powder coating used for staining:

• any metal components for products (discs, sheet metal, profile);
• finished metal products that can withstand heating up to 200 degrees Celsius;
• ceramics and wall stones;
• MDF, glass.

Powder painting is carried out in a chamber with a temperature of up to 200 ºС. Useful dimensions of the spray booth:

• width - 1200 mm
• height - 1000 mm
• length - 900 mm.
